DEL NORTE, Colo. – Several recreation sites on the Divide Ranger District of the Rio Grande National Forest will continue to be closed during the 2015 summer season.
The Continental Reservoir Boating Area is closed while work on the dam continues. River Hill Campground is closed due to concerns for potential flooding from increased storm flows from the West Fork Complex burned area.
Comstock Campground and the south loop of Cathedral Campground are closed because of safety issues resulting from beetle-killed hazard trees. Removal of dead and dying trees in Comstock Campground is expected to begin in July.
The Tucker Ponds Picnic Area is closed indefinitely in order to put limited recreation funds to higher use areas.
