Rio Grande National Forest Begins Hiring for 2017 Field Season

Monte Vista, Colo. – The Rocky Mountain Region of the U.S. Forest Service recently announced the availability of over 900 temporary positions for the 2017 field season throughout national forests and grasslands in Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota and Wyoming.

Temporary positions are available in a variety of exciting and rewarding occupations such as fire, trails, forestry, engineering, wildlife, recreation, fisheries, archeology and administrative support.

For those looking to stay a little closer to home, the Rio Grande National Forest is seeking applicants who are at least 18 years old for nearly 20 temporary positions in the fields of archeology, fire, forestry, recreation, wildlife, and a general laborer for road maintenance.

Job seekers can apply for temporary jobs during the following time frames:
January 4-10, 2017: Wildland fire positions and other early season temporary positions.
February 2-8, 2017: Recreation, fisheries, forestry, engineering, and other positions.
