MONTE VISTA, Colo., February 13, 1017 – The Rio Grande National Forest recently added another method to how the Forest communicates to the public by opening a Facebook page.
“We have heard from many people over the past year that we should get on Facebook,” said Rio Grande National Forest Supervisor Dan Dallas. “Local residents, part-time residents and visitors have said they would like to follow us on the popular social media network, so we decided to jump in.”
The Forest plans to use Facebook to provide timely information about projects, safety issues, events and public meetings, as well as sharing historic and scenic photos.
“The Facebook page will complement our existing suite of public communication methods,” added Mike Blakeman, Forest Public Affairs Specialist. “We hope people will find the page to be informative, inspiring and fun,”
