CREEDE, COLO., (December 3, 2014) The Creede Community Foundation (CCF) in partnership with the Creede Economic Development Committee is pleased to host a Leading Edge Certification course. This exciting opportunity is open to existing businesses, new businesses, start-ups, and non-profits interested in creating a sustainable and successful business plan as well as learning how to effectively present to funding sources.

Through generous support from the Rio Grande Watershed Emergency Action Coordination Team (RWEACT), Del Norte Bank, and the CCF advisory board, the certification will be led by Jeff Owsley, Director of the San Luis Valley Small Business Development Center, and Roni Wisdom, Chief Financial Officer of the San Luis Valley Development Resource Group.

This comprehensive entrepreneur training and development course provides owners, managers, and non-profit executives expert guidance in the areas of management, marketing, finance, personnel, cash flow and much more. Included in the course is 6 month access to a powerful online business platform that provides ongoing technical assistance in preparing and completing a business plan. At the conclusion of the course, each participant is invited to pitch their business or organization to a panel of regional lenders.

The series of classes will take place over 3 weekends in Creede: Dec 6&7, Jan 10&11 and Feb 7&8. Each Saturday's schedule will be 9:00-Noon Morning Session, 1:00-4:30 Afternoon Session, and 4:30-6:30 Networking/Social Time. On Sunday there will be one session from 9:00-12:30. Each weekend will feature special speakers covering a wide range of topics. During the final weekend in February, a lending panel of regional financial institutions and funding experts from traditional and non-traditional lending sources will entertain presentations from each registrant.

Cost is $260 per business and includes all materials and a 6 month subscription to LivePlan.com.

For every business and/or non-profit organization that participates
you are allowed to bring two people at no additional cost.
