DEL NORTE, Colo. - The Divide Ranger District of the Rio Grande National Forest is soliciting proposals from individuals or organizations interested in providing outfitting and guiding services to the public.

“We have heard from both the public and potential providers the need for a wider variety of outfitting and guiding services on the district,” said Divide District Ranger Martha Williamson. “We are issuing an outfitting and guiding prospectus due to that demand.”

The District is open to receiving proposals for providing a variety of services except for wilderness and river trips, and fishing, hunting and horseback services, as these are already at maximum capacity.

“Outfitting and guiding services are a win-win for our area,” continued Williamson. “They provide safe, high quality recreational services for the public while also creating job opportunities that benefit our communities.”

The prospectus may be found on the Rio Grande National Forest website at http://www.fs.usda.gov/main/riogrande/passes-permits/recreation. A hardcopy prospectus may be obtained from the Divide Ranger District office at 13308 US Highway 160, Del Norte, CO 81132.
