MONTE VISTA, Colo., March 2, 2017 – Forest System Road 250 on the Rio Grande National Forest in Alamosa Canyon will soon be plowed from Jasper to the junction of FSR 380. The road above Jasper will be closed while it is being plowed and will be opened as soon as it is dry enough for public use. The date for plowing will depend on weather conditions.

Recreationists will need to trailer their snowmobiles to the junction of FSR 250 and FSR 380 once the road is opened for public use.

FSR 250 is being plowed to provide access to replace the Bitter Creek Bridge before spring runoff. The road will remain open while the bridge is being replaced.

The current status of FSR 250 may be found in the Conejos Peak Road Conditions section on the Rio Grande National Forest's website at www.fs.usda.gov/riogrande. The Forest will also post the date the road is being plowed on Facebook at www.facebook.com/USFSRGNF/.
