Forest Service road near Elwood Cabin to be temporarily closed for repairs
SOUTH FORK, Colo., June 29, 2017 – A section of Forest Service Road 380, Park Creek Road, near Elwood Cabin, will be closed July 10 and 11 while the Rio Grande National Forest road crew repairs it. Part of the road is sloughing down a steep side slope limiting travel to one lane.
Visitors will be able reach Elwood Cabin from the north (South Fork side) while repairs are occurring. Access to FSR 667 near Elwood Pass and Forest Trail 707 to Crater Lake will be available from the south by way of FSR 250.
Orange traffic cones are currently positioned next to the damaged section of the road. Motorists are advised to use caution and keep far to the inside of the road while driving by the cones.
